Executive Director (Part-Time)
Reports To: NIB Board of Directors
Purpose:
The North Iowa Betterment Executive Director is responsible for working with the Board of Directors to accomplish the mission of North Iowa Betterment and for implementation of the priorities identified by the Board of Directors. North Iowa Betterment Executive Director initiates programs to help support local businesses and quality of life in the North Iowa communities.
Duties:
Develop and maintain an active volunteer list and assign duties as necessary.
Facilitate membership campaigns. Survey and address member needs and identify community program needs. Develop and oversee program implementation. Measure program effectiveness.
Work with local government, business and other organizations to encourage economic development in the North Iowa communities.
Act as spokesperson and liaison for North Iowa Betterment in all interaction with other groups or organizations and individuals as per directions of the Board of Directors.
Responsible for the execution of all activities associated with the Chamber of Commerce including staffing needs for all meetings, scheduling of meetings, designating of locations, development of agenda and creation and delivery of any meeting materials that are necessary.
Qualifications:
Must have high school diploma, GED Certificate or equivalent. Advanced training in public relations/communications work or equivalent experience is a plus.
Associates degree or college courses in related field are preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. This position requires communication with North Iowa community citizens, businesses, city government leaders and area media. Verbal communication duties may include fundraising, membership drives, and program needs. Written communication may include brochures, letters, and requests for information, grants, quotations or proposals.
Ability to work with Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of budgeting and record keeping.
Demonstrates organizational skills.
Must be able to work regularly scheduled hours, as well as weekends and after hours depending on the event taking place.
Must be self-motivated and able to produce high-quality results with little supervision.
Demonstrates sound reasoning skills.
